ASUS Fonepad 7 (FE171CG) Review

Hey.,! Guys finaly ASUS gave us a chance to review their newest affordable tablet the ASUS Fonepad 7  (FE171CG) price at 6995php.

Build and Design

The Fonepad 7 design is really Good, this device dosent look cheap. Let's take a look more depeer on design of the New ASUS Fonepad 7.

The upper zone is the place the 2MP front cam sits agreeably just close to the speaker grille. There's a thick bezel up top and on the base which isn't all that terrible, as it offers space to hold the gadget in scene view.

The Fonepad 7 is just 7.9mm which definitely looks sleeker and feels better to hold.

The back spread is an entire board made of astounding matte plastic.

At the left side  volume rocker, and power/lock button is located

The upper left side conceals a fold that opens to uncover double SIM card openings. The Fonepad 7 just acknowledges micro SIMs so you best get your SIM cards trimmed.
Expansion for memory is at the bottom right of the back cover. Nice job to ASUS making it more secured tight, locked in place, and stayed that way for the entire duration.

at the top left side the microUSB port, 3,5mm audio jack are located. Before a i forgot at the back left side the 5-megapixel Camera is located.

Performance

ASUS incorporated its Hyper Threading Technology which is like ASUS Zenfone 5. It is then joined forces with the same Intel Atom Z2520 dual core processor and it has 1GB RAM and 8GB of ram also there is a 16gb variant which 1,000 pesos higher to 8GB variant.

The presentation is the place the majority of the financial backing sparing has been made with only 170 pixels every inch on the 600×1 024 determination, 7 inch show. Despite the fact that the way that its an IPS show doubtlessly assists with astounding review points and extraordinary brilliance inside and out.

It all interprets into a somewhat disagreeably toiled experience when utilizing the Fonepad 7 that would frequently disappoint us at to what extent activities like pulling down the notice bar would take to be completed

Software

The ASUS Fonepad 7 runs on Android 4.4.2 which, while the oldest circulating release of Google’s mobile OS, is hardly what we would call cutting edge. Still the thought of the hardware having to deal with all of the visual changes and extensive graphics requirements in Android 5.0 makes us almost glad that they went with the older version instead.
While ASUS’s ZenUI is not as overly in-your-face as the likes of Samsung’s TouchWiz, it still adds some guff over the top of the standard Android experience. Normally we wouldn’t have a problem with a manufacturer adding some custom work on top of the stock Android experience, but with the sluggish processing and minimal storage space available we think they could have dialled back on it a bit.

Display

Updated screen – another improvement trends. Unfortunately, its resolution remains low – only 1024 by 600 pixels, would like to see in such a device HD (1280 × 800) matrix. However, a modest TN-panel replaced more current IPS screen with no air gap.

The screen brightness is regulated manually, it varies from 10 to 264 cd / m2, the contrast ratio is 1: 992. Minimum level of illumination would be comfortable for reading in the dark, but the level of maximum brightness is low, it will not be enough for comfortable use ASUS Fonepad 7 (FE171CG) outdoors on a sunny day.

Screen calibration is not perfect, but the colors look quite natural and pleasing to the eye. There Splendid firmware application to configure the color of the screen and a special “reading mode” reduces the amount of blue component images and makes the picture more pleasing to the eye, so that the user is less tired, spending a lot of time behind the screen of the tablet.

The display has an oleophobic coating of medium quality, allowing fingers to slide better on the glass and making prints less visible.

Camera

Imaging is dealt with by a 5 megapixel cam in the back and a 2 megapixel cam in advance, nothing stupendous except for the standard at the cost range.

The Fonepad 7 has 5MP rear camera with no flash. It takes decent shot but oversaturated color specially if you are capturing bright area, as i always saying  don't expect to much since camera is not the main feature of the tablet.

Check out the samples below.

Battery life

The tablet got built-in battery capacity of 4000 mAh (15 Wh). Despite the fact that the capacity of the battery remains the same, ASUS state that runs until a new Fonepad 14 hours in Semi Heavy Usage, in contrast to 10 hours for the old model.

Since the Fonepad is the same size as a little tablet it has the same size battery as a little tablet would have with a huge 4000 mAh  force pack.

Conclusion

With the trend in the market place heading towards larger displays and Asia already having gone batty for tablets that double up as phones, the groundswell may just point to a perfect sequence of events for the Fonepad 7 to be a success.
For its price it makes a compelling choice as a tablet but we still can’t see ourselves using a phone this size without feeling foolish. However that should not dissuade you from the Fonepad 7 should you be in the market for a silly-sized phone.
